Picnic
We were invited to a picnic [photos] by the parents of one of N’s friends from school. It has been great to get to know them. We have been meeting quite a few people in Houston, which makes our recent move here easier. We all sat down to lunch around the picnic blanket. Afterwards we chatted while the kids ran off to play in the playground nearby. It turns out Cathy specializes in a field of statistics where Item Response Theory is used. This is something I learnt during one of my projects at work 7 years ago. I wish I could remember something about it besides the name and the concept.
It was a great day to be outdoors. The weather in Houston has been fabulous for most of the winter, but today was particularly good – a beautiful, sunny 70 degrees. This is perfect picnic weather. The kids had a blast. When it was time to go, N and A wanted to play in the water fountain play area. We spent quite a bit of time there. By the time we got home in the afternoon, the kids were very tired. N took a nap while A went to bed early.
