Home to New York

The cab arrived on time – 4:30 AM. But my laptop would not fit in the laptop bag because of everything else I had put in there – including the book I decided to take with me to read – The Great Indian Novel by Shashi Tharoor. I switched bags, and slept all the way to the airport. Checking in was easy – luggage all the way to New Delhi, boarding pass only to JFK. Slept all the way to JFK. Checked into British Airways flight and got 4,000 rupees exchanged here. I have been wanting to take pictures to go with this writing, but I am afraid it will cause trouble at the airport.

I took the subway down to Manhattan for lunch with an ex-co-worker. It took a one hour ride and two changes to get from JFK Airport to Union Square. We had noodles and sorbets for lunch, and roamed around Broadway, Union Square, etc. I think I saw Tim Lawless, another ex-co-worker, walking by. After that I went back to JFK and got on the plane to Heathrow.
